Full interior renovation of a flat in Barcelona in collaboration with Mar L. Prat. It is a building from 1930s, typical of the Barcelonian Eixample, with brick walls today covered by layers of dry walls and catalan vaults hidden behind suspended ceilings. The flat has wooden door and window frames that have outlived almost a 100 years of existence in a pretty good shape but that still needed to freshen up. The idea is to recover some of this elements and combine them with more updated finishes. We demolished the suspended ceilings to gain almost half a meter in height, showcase the catalan vaults and highlight them with a subtle recessed lighting. We relocated an open kitchen in the brightest area of the flat and added one more bedroom to maximize capacity. We included a new bathroom and turned the existing one into an en-suite with a free standing bath behind sliding fluted glass doors.
