BRUNCH

BRUNCH

Concept Space in Barcelona

This project defines a new brunch space identity in Barcelona through a strong combination of material expression, brand colour integration, and custom-designed elements. The interior becomes a recognisable and coherent environment shaped by a distinctive use of corrugated polycarbonate, a signature mustard yellow palette, and bespoke plywood furniture, creating a space that is both functional and highly identifiable.

Project Fact Sheet

Brand Identity and Atmosphere

The design translates the client’s brand into a spatial experience through a consistent use of mustard yellow, which becomes a guiding thread across the interior. This colour is applied strategically to reinforce recognition while energising the space, establishing a clear and memorable visual identity. The result is an interior where branding is not applied superficially, but fully integrated into the architectural language.

Material Expression and Light

A defining feature of the project is the use of corrugated polycarbonate, which introduces a semi-translucent quality that filters and diffuses natural light throughout the space. This material generates a shifting atmosphere during the day, producing a soft interplay of light, shadow, and texture. Combined with warm artificial lighting, it enhances the sense of depth and creates a lightweight, contemporary spatial perception.

Custom Furniture and Warmth

The interior is completed with a series of bespoke plywood furniture pieces, designed specifically for the project. These elements bring warmth and tactility, contrasting with the industrial character of the polycarbonate. The use of plywood joinery allows for continuity in design language across tables, benches, and service elements, reinforcing a cohesive and crafted interior experience.

Material Identity as Spatial Branding

A key achievement of the project is the successful translation of brand identity into architectural form through the combined use of corrugated polycarbonate, mustard yellow colour strategy, and custom plywood furniture. These three elements work together to create a unified and recognisable spatial identity, where branding is experienced physically rather than graphically. The result is a space where materiality becomes communication, strengthening both the atmosphere and the commercial identity of the project.
